A welcome from our Headteacher

Annwyl Rieni, Gwarcheidwaid a Ffrindiau,

Braint ac anrhydedd yw eich croesawu chi i wefan Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch.

Ein nod yw cynnig ysgol arloesol 3-11 sydd yn darparu addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg o’r radd flaenaf mewn awyrgylch teg, gartrefol ac uchelgeisiol.

Credwn mewn paratoi disgyblion trwy ddatblygu eu sgiliau a’u gwerthoedd ar gyfer bywyd tu hwnt i’r ystafell ddosbarth ac i wynebu heriau’r unfed ganrif ar hugain.

Disgwyliwn y safon orau posibl gan ein disgyblion ac fe wnawn ein gorau i roi pob cyfle ac arweiniad iddynt hwy. Mae cyfoeth ac ehangder y gweithgareddau allgyrsiol yn nodwedd bwysig o fywyd a diwylliant yr ysgol hon. Anelwn at sicrhau llwyddiannau academaidd, diwylliannol, cerddorol a chwaraeon gan ddathlu llwyddiant pob disgybl, beth bynnag o’i ddawn a’i ddiddordeb.  

Un o gryfderau ein hysgol yw ei hethos Gymraeg a theg, ei chymuned ofalgar, agored a hapus lle mae'r disgyblion yn teimlo’n gartrefol ac yn mwynhau eu haddysg.
 

Anelwn at wneud dysgu yn brofiad cyffrous a phleserus a hynny yn bennaf trwy ddefnyddio dulliau dysgu diddorol a gweithredol yn ein gwersi.

Mae pob disgybl yn bwysig fel unigolyn, a phob unigolyn yn bwysig fel aelod o gymuned Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch. Yr egwyddor hon o barchu’r unigolyn a gosod anghenion yr unigolyn yn y canol sydd wrth wraidd ethos, gwerthoedd a llwyddiant ein hysgol.

Mae ein disgyblion yn falch o’u hysgol, yn falch o’u Cymreictod a’u dwyieithrwydd ac yn medru cyfrannu yn gadarnhaol at gymdeithas aml-ieithog ac aml-ddiwylliannol Caerdydd, Cymru a’r Byd.

Mae addysgu plant yn gyfrifoldeb mawr ac yn fraint aruthrol. Os ydych yn rhiant i ddisgybl sydd eisoes yn yr ysgol, diolch i chi am ymddiried ynom gyda'r swydd. Os ydych yn ystyried danfon eich plentyn i Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch neu os hoffech wybod mwy, cysylltwch â ni.

Yr wyf yn hynod o falch i fod yn Bennaeth ar yr ysgol cyfrwng Cymraeg llwyddiannus ac uchelgeisiol hon, a byddaf wrth fy modd yn eich tywys o gwmpas yr ysgol i chi weld dros eich hun beth allwn gynnig i'ch plentyn.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

It is an honour and a privilege to welcome you to Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch’s website.

Our aim is to provide a pioneering 3-11 school which delivers Welsh Medium Education of the highest quality within an equitible, homely and ambitious environment.

We believe in preparing pupils by developing their skills and values in preparation for life beyond the classroom and in anticipation of facing the challenges of the 21^st century.

We expect the highest possible standards from our pupils and we do our utmost to give them every opportunity and guidance. The wide ranging extra-curricular menu is a notable feature of the school’s life and culture. We celebrate our academic, cultural, musical and sporting achievements and take pride in the personal progress of all our pupils, whatever their talents and interests.

One of the main strengths of our school is its caring, equity driven, open and happy ethos where pupils feel at home and enjoy their education in a Welsh environment. One of our main aims is to make learning an exciting and pleasurable experience, mainly by ensuring that we use teaching and learning methods which are interesting and actively involve our pupils.

Every pupil is regarded as an individual who is an important member of the Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch community. This fundamental principle of respecting each individual and placing the individual’s needs at the centre forms the basis of the school’s ethos, values and success.    

We are confident that our pupils are proud of their school, proud of their Welshness and their bilingualism, and are able to contribute to the multi-lingual and multi-cultural community of Cardiff, Wales and the World.
